Translate a PDF without losing its formatting
Copying text out of a PDF into a translator gives you the words but throws away the document: the letterhead, the columns, the table, the signature block. Here the translation goes back into the same lines. Each line keeps its position, typeface, size and colour, and a longer translation is fitted to its space — first by tightening letter spacing a little, then by reducing the size, never below 82% of the original.
How to translate a PDF
- Open the PDF above. It stays in your browser.
- Press AI text and choose the scope: this line, this page or the whole document.
- Pick a language — Albanian, English, Italian, German, French, Spanish, Greek, Turkish and more — and press Translate.
- Review. Every line is shown old and new side by side, with the size change needed to fit. Skip any line you want to keep.
- Apply, check the page, and Save.
What the translator is careful with
- Numbers, amounts, IBANs, codes and names are kept exactly as written. Month names are translated; dates and figures are not touched.
- Headings, bullets, indents, capitals and punctuation are kept, so a list stays a list and a title stays a title.
- Lines are never merged, split or reordered, so tables and forms keep their shape.
- Changed numbers and letters the original font cannot show are flagged for you before you save.
Also: rewrite, shorten, correct
The same panel takes plain instructions — "fix spelling", "make it more formal", "shorten to fit" — and applies them line by line with the same review step.
Questions
Which languages can I translate a PDF into?
17 languages, including Albanian, English, Italian, German, French, Spanish, Greek, Turkish, Serbian, Macedonian, Romanian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Arabic and Chinese.
Does the translated PDF keep its layout?
Yes. Each line is replaced in place with the same font, size, colour and position. If a translation is longer, it is fitted by slightly tighter spacing and a smaller size, and you see the exact change before applying it.
Is my document uploaded for translation?
The PDF file never leaves your browser. Only the text of the lines being translated is sent to the AI, and nothing is stored beyond a usage count for the free allowance.
How much can I translate for free?
There is a free rolling daily allowance of AI credits. One line costs one credit; a page or document costs one credit per 12 lines.
Can I translate a scanned PDF?
Yes. Read the page with OCR first (the editor offers it when a page has no text), then translate the lines it found.
